On December 6, 2019, Sterling Capital’s parent company, BB&T Corporation and SunTrust Banks closed the merger of equals and became Truist Financial Corporation, the sixth largest U.S. commercial bank. Sterling continues to be an independently operated subsidiary of Truist Financial Corporation.
